How can we help?
Answers to the questions motorists ask us most — vehicles, service reminders, fuel and expenses, trip planning, the SOS network, our community, and your account. Can't find what you're looking for? Talk to us.
Getting started
Creating your account and finding your way around.
How do I create an Autova account?
Install Autova from the App Store (Android is coming soon). Open the app and tap Create account on the welcome screen — you can sign up with an email and password, or use Continue with Google for one-tap setup. Can I sign in with Google?
Yes. The login screen has a Continue with Google button that signs you in with the same Google account you use on your phone — no separate password needed.I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
On the login screen, tap Forgot password and enter your email. We will send you a reset link; opening it lets you choose a new password in the app.Is Autova free?
Yes. The core app — vehicles, maintenance reminders, fuel and expense logging, trip planner, community, and the activity timeline — is free to use. Some marketplace items (such as roadside requests and battery purchases) carry their own price set by the vendor.Which languages does Autova support?
Autova is available in English and Arabic. The app follows your phone's language setting by default; you can override it from Profile → Settings.
Garage & vehicles
Adding cars and motorbikes, plates, expiries, and the primary vehicle.
Can I add more than one vehicle?
Yes. There's no hard limit — add as many cars and motorbikes as you own. One vehicle is marked Primary at any given time; that's the one the home dashboard and quick actions default to.Does Autova support motorbikes?
Yes. Motorbikes are first-class vehicles, with the same maintenance, fuel, expense, and trip features as cars. Service intervals can be set by kilometers or by engine hours, whichever fits your bike. How do I change which vehicle is primary?
Open the vehicle from My Garage, tap the menu, and choose Set as primary. The previous primary is automatically demoted — only one car or bike is primary at a time.Where do I update my odometer?
Open a vehicle and tap the odometer to edit it directly. Autova also offers to update it whenever you log a fuel fill-up, complete a service, or end a trip. Can I store my insurance and registration expiry?
Yes. When adding a vehicle (or editing it later) you can save registration and insurance expiry dates. Autova will surface them on the home dashboard as renewals approach and send a reminder a few weeks before.
Maintenance & reminders
Service schedules, statuses, and logging completed work.
Which service types are tracked?
Oil change, oil filter, air filter, cabin filter, fuel filter, brake pads, brake fluid, tire rotation, wheel alignment, battery, transmission service, AC service, spark plugs, suspension check, full detailing, periodic inspection, bodywork, and any custom service you add yourself. How do reminders work?
Each maintenance item has an interval in kilometers, in months, or both — whichever comes first. Autova tracks where each item stands (OK, Upcoming, Due, Overdue) and sends a notification before it goes overdue. Can I customize the intervals?
Yes. Default intervals are pre-filled when you add a service item, but you can override them at any time. You can also add custom services with your own name and interval (for example, helmet replacement on a motorbike). How do I log a completed service?
From the maintenance item, tap Log service and fill in the date, odometer at the time, cost, and the garage that did the work. Autova then recalculates when it's next due and marks the previous interval as completed. Can I view past services?
Yes. Each service item shows a history of completed entries with date, odometer, cost, and garage. The unified Activity timeline also lists every service across all your vehicles.
Fuel & expenses
Fill-ups, fuel efficiency, and everything else you spend on the car.
How is fuel efficiency calculated?
Autova computes km/L from the distance between two full tanks. Partial fills are still logged for cost tracking but don't affect the efficiency number — that requires two full tanks to anchor the reading. Can I log partial fill-ups?
Yes. Toggle Partial fill when logging fuel. Partial entries appear in your fuel history and monthly totals but are excluded from the efficiency calculation until the next full tank.Which fuel types are supported?
Octane 92, Octane 95, Octane 98, diesel, and electric. Egypt's current pump prices are used by the trip planner to estimate fuel cost for journeys. What expense categories are there?
Parking, tolls, traffic fines, accessories, registration, insurance, roadside assistance, car wash, and a custom Other category for anything that doesn't fit. Each entry can have up to 3 receipt photos attached. Can I see total cost of ownership?
Yes. The Activity timeline rolls up fuel, services, expenses, and emergency requests per vehicle, so you can see exactly what each car has cost you this month, this year, or all-time.
Trip planner & journeys
Route planning, fuel/toll estimates, and recording trips.
How accurate is the fuel cost estimate?
The estimate uses your selected vehicle's recorded consumption (km/L) and the current pump price for its fuel type. The more fill-ups you've logged, the more accurate the L/100 figure — and therefore the more accurate the estimate.Does the planner know about tolls?
Yes. For routes that include tolled segments, Autova shows an estimated toll range and offers an alternative no-toll route if one exists. Use the Avoid tolls toggle to prefer the cheaper option by default. Can I add stops along the way?
Yes. Tap Add stop in the planner to insert intermediate waypoints between origin and destination. The planner re-routes through each stop and updates the cost and ETA accordingly. What does Start trip do?
Starting a trip from the planner captures your current odometer and pre-fills the destination as the trip note. When you reach your destination and tap End trip, Autova records the final odometer and computes the actual fuel cost based on the distance you drove. What happens if I forget to end a trip?
Trips automatically close after 30 days of inactivity. The trip status changes to Auto-closed and remains in your history — you can still edit it manually to set the correct end odometer if you remember it later.
Roadside & SOS
Verified responders, live status, and the battery marketplace.
Who responds to an SOS request?
Verified roadside vendors in our network. Each vendor is rated by past customers and shows an estimated arrival time before you confirm. We never dispatch a responder you haven't accepted first. Is my location shared automatically?
Only the location you confirm in the request. Autova pre-fills your current GPS position so the responder can find you, but you can edit the pin before submitting and you can cancel sharing at any time. How do I track an active request?
The active request appears at the top of the Emergency screen with a live status: Pending → Accepted → On the way → Completed. You can also call or message the responder directly from inside the request. What kinds of help can I request?
Battery jump, battery replacement, flat tire repair, tire change, fuel delivery, tow truck, and general roadside help. Each request type can include notes describing the issue. Can I buy a battery directly from the app?
Yes. The in-app marketplace shows batteries that fit your vehicle, with brand, price, capacity (Ah), warranty, and stock status. You can buy and arrange installation through the same vendor flow.
Community
The group chat for owners of your exact make and model.
How do I find a community for my car?
Open Community → Discover. Autova suggests groups for your make and model based on the vehicles in your garage. You can also browse all public communities or search by name. Are communities private?
Some are public — you can join with one tap. Others are private and require approval from an admin (for example, owner-clubs that verify membership). Join requests appear in the admin's queue. What can I post?
Text posts, images, and polls. Posts support likes and comments, and admins can pin important posts to the top of the feed (workshop recommendations, group rides, etc.).Can I create my own community?
Yes, if there isn't one for your make or model yet. Tap Create community, fill in the name, scope (brand or specific model), and a description. Autova reviews the request quickly to prevent duplicates.
Garage directory
Trusted workshops near you with real reviews.
Are the workshops verified?
Workshops fall into tiers: Official dealer, Dealer-certified, App-verified, and Unverified. Each tier has a badge on the listing — App-verified means we've physically confirmed the location, hours, and contact details. Can I leave a review?
Yes. Open a workshop's profile and tap Write review. You can rate it from 1 to 5 stars and add a short text review. Reviews are public and tied to your Autova profile. My workshop isn't listed. How do I add it?
Tap Claim or add workshop on the garage directory screen. Fill in name, address, services, hours, and contact details. The Autova team reviews submissions before they go live. Can I sort by distance?
Yes. The directory uses your current location (with your permission) and shows distance in kilometers next to each workshop. You can also switch to a map view to scan the neighborhood.
Parking
Drop a pin, add a note, find your way back.
How do I save where I parked?
Open the Parking screen and tap Save current location. Autova drops a GPS pin at your current spot and starts a 24-hour countdown — plenty of time to remember a mall, airport, or stadium spot. Can I add a note for the location?
Yes. After saving, tap the note field and write whatever helps you remember — Level B2, near elevator, by the second fountain. It's just for you; nothing is shared.Does Navigate back use Google Maps or Apple Maps?
Whichever you have installed. On iPhone, Apple Maps opens by default; on Android, Google Maps does. If you have multiple maps apps, your phone asks once which to use. What happens after 24 hours?
The saved spot expires automatically and clears itself. This is intentional — parking spots are a short-term memory aid, not permanent history. You can also clear the spot manually any time before then.
Notifications
What Autova pings you about, and how to control it.
What does Autova send notifications about?
Service items that are due, insurance and registration renewals approaching, odometer reminders if your car has been idle a while, fuel nudges (if you set a budget), emergency request status updates, and community pings for groups you've joined. Can I turn off some notification types?
Yes. Open Profile → Notification settings and toggle each category independently. The system-level toggle on iOS or Android also lets you silence Autova entirely without uninstalling.Where do past notifications go?
The Notifications screen keeps the last 90 days of pings, with deep-links straight back to the relevant screen (a maintenance reminder takes you to the service item, an emergency update takes you to that request).
Account, privacy & data
Where your data lives and how to control it.
Where is my data stored?
On secured Autova servers, encrypted in transit and at rest. Vehicle data is tied to your account and never shared with vendors unless you explicitly accept a service request from them. Can I delete my account?
Yes. Open Profile → Settings → Delete account. We confirm twice (deletion is permanent) and then erase your vehicles, history, photos, and account record within 30 days.Do you share my data with third parties?
No. We don't sell or share personal data. Aggregated, anonymous statistics (such as average fuel consumption by model) may inform the app, but never anything personally identifiable. How do I export my data?
Profile → Settings → Export data. We email you a JSON file containing your vehicles, maintenance log, fuel log, expenses, and trip history — usable by any other app or kept as your own backup. What does Reset data do?
Reset data wipes everything inside the app on your phone — vehicles, history, and cached photos — but keeps your account. It's the right action before handing your phone to someone else or testing a fresh setup.
Still need a hand?
We read every message. Drop us a note and a real person will reply, usually within a working day.
Roadside emergencies are handled inside the app — open Autova and tap SOS for the fastest verified response.
